These are the rules for using Silent Vinyls. They are short on purpose. By browsing the site or creating an account, you agree to them.

What Silent Vinyls is

A community catalogue of albums, singles and artists that listeners rate and review. Reviews are the opinions of the members who wrote them. They are not ours, and publishing one is not an endorsement of it.

Your account

• You need to be at least 13 to hold an account.
• One person, one account. Don't impersonate somebody else.
• Keep your password to yourself — anything posted from your account is treated as posted by you.
• You can delete your account whenever you like.

What you post

You keep ownership of everything you write. By posting it here you give us permission to display it on the site and in previews of the site — nothing more. We do not claim your words and we will not sell them on.

Don't post:

• Abuse, harassment, threats, or attacks on people rather than records.
• Hate speech aimed at anyone's race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or disability.
• Someone else's writing passed off as your own.
• Spam, advertising, affiliate links, or ratings inflated to game a score.
• Anyone's private information, yours or somebody else's.
• Anything illegal where you are, or where we are.

Moderation

We can remove a review, a comment or an account that breaks these rules. For anything short of an obvious attack on the site or its members we will try to tell you why first. If you think we got it wrong, say so — we will look again.

The catalogue

Album and artist information, including cover artwork, comes from public music catalogue APIs (Apple and Deezer). Those rights belong to their owners; we display the material to identify the release being reviewed. If you hold rights to something shown here and want it removed, contact us and we will act.

Advertising

The site is free to use and is paid for by advertising. Ads are labelled, and signed-in members do not see them. What an ad provider collects is covered in our Privacy Policy.

No guarantees

Silent Vinyls is offered as it is. We try to keep it up, accurate and backed up, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable, never lose data, or never show a mistake in the catalogue. Don't rely on it as your only copy of anything you care about.

Changes

If these terms change we will update the date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
